Jones leaves Fierce: Dan Jones has recently returned to freelancing once again, following a little over 3 years working as a senior reporter covering wireless at Fierce Network. Previously, Jones held positions including Mobile Editor at Light Reading, focused on 5G, IoT and other wireless innovations, and Mobile Computing Editor at ComputerWire.

Gross joins the CIO Dive team at Industry Dive: Paige Gross is now reporting on enterprise tech and AI at CIO Dive. During her career, she has held several writing and reporting roles, including Senior Reporter for Technical.ly, a National Technical Reporter for States Newsroom and contributing reporter for Smart Cities Dive, covering tech integration for local governments.

Role change for Lenderman at Omdia: Jaimie Lenderman has begun a new position as Research Manager at Omdia, managing a global research and consulting team focused on Broadband Access, Optical and Routing intelligence services. Lenderman has more than a decade of experience in the telecom industry, working for Omdia (including Ovum and IHS Markit) in analyst and research manager roles, covering topics including fixed and mobile infrastructure, IP, and optical technologies.

Leone leaves Omdia to join Moor Insights and Strategy: After 15 years, Michael Leone has left Omdia and joined Moor Insights & Strategy as VP and Principal Analyst covering data platforms, analytics and governance. Having spent a little more than 14 years covering the same markets at Enterprise Strategy Group (through its acquisition by TechTarget and merger with Informa Tech/Omdia), he said he remained because “here was never the same thing twice.” His first post explains more about his new role.

Clarke-Dickson says farewell to the Telecoms and Tech Industry: With more than 30 years of experience as an analyst and journalist in the telecom and tech industry, Pamela Clarke-Dickson has made the switch to local government, where she’s supporting the growth of events-based tourism in her hometown in Queensland, Australia. As she said goodbye to the industry, Clark-Dickson reflected on how much has changed in the world of technology since the 90’s (we remember dial-up, too), and the amazing people she’s worked with at organizations including Informa Telecoms & Media, Ovum, and Omdia. While she says she’s been grateful for the opportunity to travel extensively over the years, now she says it’s time to stay in one place.

Council joins Business Insider: Following three years as a tech reporter at SFGate and internships at CNBC and the Wall Street Journal,  Stephen Council has joined Business Insider as a Senior Tech Reporter working in a team led by Leena Rao. He covers OpenAI, Anthropic and leading AI companies and says he will bring lab conversations to the public and highlight technological progress as well as societal and economic impacts.

Volz moves to The New York Times:  Dustin Volz has joined The New York Times. For the last 8 years, Volz worked at The Wall Street Journal, where he covered cybersecurity and intelligence, topics that he will continue to focus on in his new role. During his time at The Journal, he was part of a team of reporters that broke stories about China’s hacking of US telecom networks. Before that, he covered cyberconflict at Reuters. The team at The New York Times highlighted his deep expertise and big talent in their announcement.

Reilly moves to RTO Insider: Sean Reilly has been appointed Data Center/Grid Reporter at RTO Insider. Previously, Reilly worked for E&E News and Federal Times, among other publications. In his new role, he will focus on data center/grid policies in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and other, mostly Southern states.
