Media Vibes: Editorial Changes at Wired, CRN, Forbes and more

Wired – David Pierce, former Verge deputy editor, has joined Wired as a senior writer. Former executive editor Jason Tanz was named editor at large. Tanz joinedWired in late April 2007 as a senior editor. Additionally, former director of editorial projects, Robert Capps, was promoted head of editorial, overseeing content across all of Wired’s platforms; features editor Mark Robinson was boosted to executive editor; and deputy editor Joe Brown is now executive editor for Wired online. Wiredreaches an audience of more than 850,000 each month. 

CRN – Mark Haranas joins CRN as an associate editor covering telecommunications and networking. He previously served as a reporter at Gardner News since February 2011. CRN is read by more than 500,000 people each month.

TechTarget – Kristin Knapp has vacated her role as a senior editor for CRN after joining the site as an associate editor in October 2011. She has since accepted a position at TechTarget as site editor for the Networking Channel. Her replacement at CRN has not yet been named. The TechTarget network of sites have attracted more than 1.5 million members.

Engadget – Brad Molen has left his position as the senior mobile editor at Engadget, a role he held since June 2013, opting to change gears for a role in PR. He’s been replaced by Chris Velazco, who was promoted from associate editor at Engadget and previously worked as a writer for TechCrunch. Combined, AOL’s online brands reach more than 185 million viewers per month.

Forbes – Thomas Fox-Brewster joins Forbes as a staff writer covering technology, after working as a freelance writer since October 2013. He previously served as deputy editor at TechWeek Europe. Forbes has a circulation of more than 900,000 monthly readers.
