Katzmaier promoted to Editor-in-Chief at CNET: In this new role, David Katzmaier replaced the prior editor-in-chief in January 2026 covering AI, mobile, software, computing, streaming, smart home and entertainment. Katzmaier has been with CNET for more than 20 years, most recently serving as senior editorial director and senior managing editor before this promotion. In his new role, he leads CNET’s editorial team and overall content strategy across the brand. He has long been a lead reviewer and tech expert at CNET, especially known for TV reviews and personal tech coverage.

Goldfisher named Digital Managing Editor for Silicon Valley Business JournalAlastair Goldfisher brings three decades of experience covering Silicon Valley, venture capital startups and emerging technology to the role, where he is focusing on building strong digital coverage, working with reporters to shape articles around tech, including AI. As Digital Managing Editor, Goldfisher’s responsibilities include supporting the newsroom’s digital strategy and editorial execution, mentoring reporters, and shaping coverage, particularly around key Silicon Valley beats like tech and venture capital.

Tepkon acquires The Next Web: Following the shutdown of The Next Web (TNW’s) tech conference in September by the FT, SAAS partner Tekpon has acquired 100% of the brand, which covers the European tech ecosystem. Plans for 2026 include an expanded TNW Conference and new SaaS and AI program tracks, curated by Tekpon.
