Infonetics Research – IHS Inc. has acquired Infonetics Research. Founded in 1990, Infonetics covers 21 markets across the communications technology space, including cybersecurity, core and transport networking, broadband, mobile, digital TV, data center, cloud, the Internet of Things, and more. Combined with the 2012 acquisition of IMS Research, the addition of Infonetics gives IHS a global, end-to-end view of the telecom and IT supply chain, from semiconductors, components and digital displays to enterprise and service provider networking, to consumer electronics and mobile devices. A total of 46 Infonetics employees will join IHS, including four members of the company’s founding family.
Wired – Mat Honan has been named Silicon Valley bureau chief at BuzzFeed. He most recently served as senior staff writer at Wired, a position he was promoted to in August 2014. His replacement has not yet been named.Wired has a circulation of more than 800K readers.
