Time Inc.’s Fortune will publish 18 times in 2010, down from 25 times in 2009. Fortune’s ad pages declined 34.9% from last year. Fortune will publish two issues in some months and just one in others. The magazine will focus more deeply on fewer topics and add new columns to help business professionals do their jobs more effectively. It will have a cleaner, less cluttered look and an upgraded Web site. An undetermined number of layoffs are also expected to take place at the magazine in the very near future. The revamp is a prelude to broader staff cuts at Time Inc.
