As Calysto reported nearly one year ago, Yankee Group repositioned its’ mission to focus exclusively on the mobility revolution. The firm’s value proposition for its clients is to help them make money, save money and mitigate risk with their critical strategy, product, technology and marketing decisions in the new mobile economy.
With its focus on mobility, Yankee Group has aligned its research organization around five major themes:
- Mobile Money
- Mobile Apps/Cloud
- Mobile Leadership
- Mobile Broadband
- Mobile/Connected Devices
Each theme will be headed by a senior researcher with more than a decade of experience in the wireless/mobile sector:
- Mobile Money – Nick Holland, Principal Analyst
- Mobile Apps/Cloud – Chris Marsh and Jason Armitage, Principal Analysts
- Mobile Leadership – Rich Karpinski, Senior Analyst
- Mobile Broadband – Declan Lonegan, Vice President
- Mobile/Connected Devices – Boris Metodiev, Senior Analyst
Each of these new themes is being delivered to clients via Yankee Group’s new research delivery platform launched in May 2012 as part of a product family called Mobile Advisory and Planning Services (MAPS).
With the departure of Gene Signorini, former Senior Vice President and Head of Research, the leadership of Yankee Group’s research team will be assumed by Brian Partridge and Carl Howe, both of whom have been key leaders within the firm’s research team for many years. Brian and Carl will split the responsibilities of leading the research organization in the following ways:
- Carl will manage the Data Sciences and Editorial team plus the following themes: Mobile/Connected Devices, Mobile Apps/Cloud and Mobile Leadership.
- Brian will manage the Consulting efforts and the Affiliate Network plus the following themes: Mobile Broadband and Mobile Money.
In addition, Yankee Group has announced several promotions of Senior Analysts within the research team, including:
- Nick Holland, promoted to Principal Analyst focused on mobile payments/transactions and theme lead for Mobile Money.
- Chris Marsh, promoted to Principal Analyst focused on enterprise mobility and theme lead for Mobile Apps/Content.
- Jason Armitage, promoted to Principal Analyst focused on consumer mobile apps, cloud services and mobile marketing.
