Wagner joins Fierce Network: Mitch Wagner has joined Fierce Network FNTV as editorial director. Here he is working with founder Stephen Saunders to, in his own words, “share information and insights about building the digital infrastructure for the world economy.” He’ll be discussing AI, data centers, software, power, policy and more with leading companies. Wagner has covered enterprise IT and telco technology for more than 30 years, working for publications and organizations including Light Reading, Information Week and Oracle.

 

Floyd retires from S&P Global: Tracy Floyd has announced her retirement, stating her last day at S&P Global was August 17th. During a 45-year career, she says she has watched the world move “from the 8086 processor to quantum computing.” Floyd has held positions at IDC, GM, Ipsos-Vantis, HMI Research and most recently as Sales Director at 451 Research. She thanked the many valued connections she has made across those years and says she’ll be watching the AI revolution from the sidelines.

 

Sensi replaces Turner at Mobile Europe: Jasdip Sensi is the new editor of Mobile Europe. Sensi replaces Annie Turner, who held the role for more than 7 years. Turner will continue working with the publication as contributing editor. In a welcome post, CEO Fidi Neophytou, said the team are looking forward to what Sensi can bring to the team. Sensi’s past roles include Digital Editorial Lead at Capacity Media, Editor of Mobile Marketing Magazine, and News Editor at Internet Retailing.

 

IDC launches Quanta™: IDC has launched an AI-powered platform. IDC Quanta™ gives customers embedded access to IDC’s proprietary research, analyst findings, and more. Connecting to tools including email, Claude, custom AI tools and other workflows and paired with the enterprise data, content can be uploaded and synthesized with IDC’s verified insights and research, providing answers in minutes. Lorenzo Larini, Chief Executive Officer called it “…the technology intelligence fabric of the AI-enabled enterprise.” Rick Villars, Group Vice President, IT Industry Pulse at IDC explained it makes “identifying, assessing and creating plans to capitalize on changes faster,” and that it would help “tech teams that want to drive real business outcomes.”

 

Forlini joins Fortune: Emily Forlini has joined Fortune as a Senior Reporter covering AI and other emerging technologies. Forlini previously worked at PCMag for 4 years, reporting on consumer technology including AI, cybersecurity, electric cars and more. During this time, she was a bi-weekly correspondent on CBS’ Wired Wednesday and a frequent ABC contributor. Since 2024, Forlini has hosted the Superintelligent Podcast, Tec News Weekly.

 

Roof joins Business Insider: Saying she had been ‘poached again,’ Katie Roof announced she would be joining Business Insider as Editor-at-Large, covering venture capital and tech finance. In addition, she is joining the newly formed Axel Springer Global Reporters Network to contribute to POLITICO, The Telegraph, and other sister publications. Roof said she was excited to join Jamie Heller’s team, having worked with her at The Wall Street Journal. Roof has also previously worked for TechCrunch, Bloomberg News, and most recently at The Information as Deputy Bureau Chief, venture capital.

 

New Forbes Creator social-first network: New Forbes Creator has been designed to allow entrepreneurs, industry leaders and subject matter experts to connect with audience using social media, video, podcasts and live experiences across Forbes’ owned digital platforms. The network launched with several creators, including Jenny Stojkovic, an influential voice in technology, AI, and wealth, known for making complex innovation trends accessible and engaging for broad audiences.

 

Jones leaves Semafor for The San Francisco Standard: Tech reporter Rachyl Jones is moving to The Standard following two years at Semafor. During that time, she covered topics including AI, humanoid robots, and quantum computing. Announcing her new role, San Francisco Standard editor in chief, Kevin Delaney, said Rachyl had “distinguished herself (at Semafor) with her perceptive, dogged coverage of AI companies and tech trends”. Jones’ will start at the Standard on August 17 and will focus on AI firms and their employees in the San Francisco area.

 

Rogers promoted at WIRED: Reece Rogers has been promoted to Senior writer at WIRED following more than 4 years working at the publication. Rogers is focused on helping WIRED readers understand the ever-changing world of technology and previously covered streaming at Business Insider.

 

Tesseras promoted to Editor of Marketing Week: Having started at the publication as a features writer 14 years ago, Lucy Tesseras has been promoted to Editor of Marketing Week. As she announced her new role, she said that her work so far at the publication had been an absolute privilege as they “get to speak to the best in the industry about the things that matter most, not only reflecting the great and the good but calling out the bad and shaping what comes next.”

 

Williams begins new role at Economist Enterprise: The business-facing arm of The Economist Group, Economist Enterprise, has hired Greg Williams as its first Global Head of Technology and Innovation Thought Leadership. Williams, who spent 16 years working at WIRED, nine of those as Editor-in-Chief of WIRED UK, will lead editorial strategy for the organization’s technology and innovation research and thought leadership portfolio, with a focus on AI and other emerging technologies. He will also help shape Economist Enterprise’s perspectives on the technology issues most affecting business leaders, policymakers and society, spanning topics from AI governance and productivity to quantum technologies, biotechnology, manufacturing and robotics and the space economy.
