United Business Media recently completed a reorganization. This included several promotions and layoffs within the TechWeb editorial department. TechWeb West Coast news editor Michael Singer, bMighty.com editor Benjamin Tomkins and Byte and Switch editor Paul Travis were among those laid off. However, Benjamin will continue his work as a freelance writer. Mike Fratto has been promoted to editor of Byte and Switch. David Berlind has been promoted from editor-at-large to editor-in-chief at TechWeb. Fritz Nelson has taken over the title of executive editor of the InformationWeek Business Technology Network.
