The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) made staff cuts as part of an ongoing effort to consolidate all outreach to the cable technology community and bring more of an engineering focus to the organization. Debra Swann, vice president, marketing and business development, Louise Games, vice president, membership services, and Cheryl Taylor, administrator, were let go from the organization. Debra had been with SCTE since January 2007. Previously, she worked at Verizon Communications in Philadelphia for nearly 30 years before accepting early retirement in 2004. Louise was with the company since August 2007. Prior to SCTE, she was vice president of marketing and membership at the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).
