Michael Arrington Leaves TechCrunch

TechCrunch – After a very public and messy fight over journalistic ethics with parent company AOL, editor and founder, Michael Arrington, has left the blog he formed in 2005. He kicked off the opening day of this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt conference by announcing his departure. “Unfortunately, I’m going to be the first to leave. It’s no longer a good situation for me to stay at TechCrunch” said Arrington. Erick Schonfeld has replaced Arrington as editor. He previously served as co-editor since he joined the staff in September 2007. Before that, he was a blogger and editor at large for the now-defunct Business 2.0. He was also a contributing editor at Fortune. TechCrunch and its network of websites reach over 12 million unique visitors.
