Light Reading has been acquired by Informa for an undisclosed amount. The publishing, events and market research company was founded in 2000, sold to UBM in 2005 and repurchased by its co-founder and CEO Stephen Saunders in 2014. Saunders announced plans to stay with Light Reading for the foreseeable future. The acquisition of Light Reading is the next stage of Informa’s TMT (Technology, Media & Telecom) expansion program. Light Reading will become part of Informa’s Knowledge & Networking Division, with all executives, editors and analysts at LR and Heavy Reading now reporting to Andrew Mullins, division CEO, as well as working closely with Patrick Martell, CEO of Informa’s Business Intelligence market research and analysis division.
