Gartner Magic Quadrant Updates, new reporters at Business Insider, WIRED

Gartner Updates Magic Quadrant Processes — Gartner has made some changes to the way it structures its Critical Capabilities Methodologies programs. It also updated us on how these affect the Magic Quadrants. Intended to help streamline the process for both vendors and the firm’s analysts, the process reduces the amount of back-and-forth communications between companies and the analyst teams. It also shortens the review cycle. Gartner also announced it will make off-cycle updates to the Critical Capabilities reports as big industry happenings, such as an acquisition, impacts the market. Gartner has outlined the changes about what to expect in a video. The changes are effective immediately.

New Business Insider Reporter — Ashley Stewart (@ashannstew) has joined Business Insider as senior tech reporter covering Amazon and Microsoft out of Seattle. She was most recently a tech reporter at the Puget Sound Business Journal, a position she has held since 2015. Before that Stewart worked as a statehouse reporter at OPB in Salem, Oregon.

New AI writer at WIRED — Will Knight (@willknight) has joined WIRED as a senior writer, covering artificial intelligence. He was previously a senior editor at MIT Technology Review, where he wrote about fundamental advances in AI and China’s AI boom. Before that, he was an editor and writer at New Scientist.
