Connected Planet (Previously Telephony) – Penton Media announced today that Connected Planet is ceasing operations. “We tried for some time but it never achieved an appropriate revenue model,” said Warren Bimblick, Penton’s senior VP-strategy and business development. Launched in September 2009, Connected Planet targeted service providers and enterprise users of advanced telecommunications, IT and mobile networking services. Connectedplanetonline.com had more than 127,000 unique visitors each month. It’s predecessor, Telephony magazine, once held the largest circulation of all telecom magazines in the world
