Changes at TMCnet, M2M Now, and more

TMCnet – Doug Barney has been named Editor at Large. He brings nearly 30 years of experience as a technology journalist, with extensive knowledge of the networking, virtualization, and managed services industries. He most recently served as Vice President and Editorial Director of 1105 Media, where he launched Redmond, Redmond Channel Partner and Redmond Developer News. Doug also previously served as Editor in Chief at Network Computing and has been published in numerous publications including PC World, he has also made multiple appearances on CNN as a computer expert. Doug’s MSP Man column for TMCnet provides coverage of the MSP and Cloud industries. TMCnet has more than 1.5 million unique visitors per month.

M2M Now – Georgina Elrington has been appointed deputy editor and Sue Pakenham-Walsh has joined as news editor at M2M Now magazine. Both will report to the publication’s editor, Jeremy Cowan. Georgina has been a contributor to several technology magazines and newspapers, including M2M Now and its sister publication VanillaPlus, covering deep infrastructure connectivity, processes, delivery, security and billing. Sue is an experienced journalist who has conducted research in the connected devices market for M2M Now’s parent company, WKM Ltd, helping to shape the launch and early development of the M2M Now title. She is now responsible for the publication’s online news content.

Gizmodo – Geoff Manaugh will join the site as editor in chief in September 2013. He is currently contributing to BLDGBLOG and previously served as a senior editor for Dwell. Additionally, Adam Clark Estes has joined Gizmodo as a senior writer covering general technology. He comes from VICE where he was an associate editor since June 2012.

Wall Street Journal – Jonathan Krim has been named technology editor for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires reporting on tech finance and innovation, and will also serve as the bureau chief in San Francisco. He previously served as the senior deputy managing editor for The Wall Street Journal, as well as editor of MarketWatch. Jonathan replaces Steve Yoder, who is now the Page One editor.

Forbes – Eric Savitz has left his position as San Francisco bureau chief for Forbes. Eric has accepted a position as a partner at a strategic communications firm after more than 30 years as a journalist. He’s worked for several publications including: Dow Jones, Barron’s, The Industry Standard, Smart Money and Forbes, covering global technology business, investing and Silicon Valley. Eric had been with Forbes since November 2010. Forbes has a subscriber base of more than 925K, while Forbes.com reaches more than 27 million unique visitors each month.
