Vocus, a provider of on-demand software for public-relations management, has acquired HARO (Help A Reporter Out), a free Web service that links 30,000 reporters and bloggers with 70,000 small businesses and PR professionals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, however HARO’s ad revenues are nearly $1 million per year. HARO founder Peter Shankman will join Vocus as a vice president.
