The Mobile Marketing Association announced a plan to restructure its four operating regions–Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Latin America and North America, into business units, expanding the roles and responsibilities of each region’s managing director to better address local market needs and guarantee global scalability. Managing directors will strive to foster strong member communities, form new in-country local councils and oversee MMA Forum events in addition to monitoring adherence to the organization’s Consumer Best Practices guidelines. iLoop Mobile founder Michael Becker will stepped down from MMAs board of directors to assume the role of North American managing director. He will be working alongside Paul Berney in EMEA and Rohit Dadwal in APAC–the managing directors will report to interim MMA CEO Federico Pisani Massamormile. Previously, the associations CEO also managed its North American operations. In this new structure, the role of CEO and manager of North America are separate. MMA continues to search for a new CEO.
