Jason Meyers Joins Connected Planet

Jason Meyers has returned to Penton Digital Media and Communications Division in the newly created position of Director Of Custom Content And Events for Connected Planet and Telephony Online. He will direct sales strategy and execution of custom content projects created on behalf of advertisers, as well as projects created in conjunction with industry organizations, such as show dailies. Jason will be developing new “in-person” and virtual event products and possible partnerships on events and working very closely with the editorial and sales teams on content and sponsorship sales. He will also be actively engaged in the Connected Planet management team as it continue to map its strategy and develop the Connected Planet brand and portfolio. Jason was Director Of Conferences for SUPERCOMM 2009. He originally joined the Telephony staff in 1993 as an assistant editor, reporting on telecom technology and business trends. From 1999 to 2006, Jason was editor-in-chief of Telephony, and he helped lead Telephony’s entry into custom media products and live events. He was managing director of Penton Media’s custom media division until November 2008. “I’m very excited to be rejoining the top-notch talent at Penton and Connected Planet. Rich Karpinski has been officially named as editor-in-chief of Connected Planet after being named interim editor following the departure of Carol Wilson in October. He will report directly to group publisher Wayne Madden.
