Gerry Purdy/Mobilocity - AOTMP, telecom management certification provider and organizer of the AOTMP Telecom Management Conferences for Enterprises and Vendors, has acquired Mobilocity LLC and hired J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D. as Principal Analyst, Mobile & Wireless to support AOTMP’s growth and expansion plans in the mobile and wireless arena. Purdy’s responsibilities will include market research, conferences & events and a number of certification programs. He’ll report to Bill Hinton, VP & GM, Vendor Practice.
Wireless Week - Diana Goovaerts has been promoted from Associate Editor to Editor and is now the main contact for Wireless Week. Former Editor-in-Chief Andrew Berg now serves as the Editorial Director of Advantage Business Media’s manufacturing group. WirelessWeek.com reaches more than 472,000 unique visitors per month.
Light Reading has been acquired by Informa for an undisclosed amount. The publishing, events and market research company was founded in 2000, sold to UBM in 2005 and repurchased by its co-founder and CEO Stephen Saunders in 2014. Saunders announced plans to stay with Light Reading for the foreseeable future. The acquisition of Light Reading is the next stage of Informa’s TMT (Technology, Media & Telecom) expansion program.
