CNET – Connie Guglielmo has been named Editor-in-Chief of News at CNET. In this new role, she will direct all operational and editorial aspects of the global news team, from breaking news to analysis and features. Connie joins CNET from Forbes, where she most recently served as Technology Editor in San Francisco. She previously spent seven years as a Financial Reporter and Enterprise Editor at Bloomberg News and also served as Silicon Valley Bureau Chief at Interactive Week and News Editor at MacWeek. CNET’s site attracts more than 32 million users per month.
Bloomberg News – Sarah Rabil has joined the U.S. telecom & media group at Bloomberg News as Team Leader and Editor. In this role, she will oversee coverage of the telecommunications and media industries in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as cover NY-based technology companies. Most recently, she served as Team Leader and Editor for the Deals team’s daily analysis column, Real M&A. Before that, she was a Media Reporter at Bloomberg News. Bloomberg News content is syndicated to more than 1,000 media outlets across 60+ countries.
GeekWire – Tricia Duryee has joined GeekWire as a staff writer. In her new role, Tricia will cover e-commerce, wireless products, and gaming. She comes to GeekWire from the now defunct AllThingsD where she served as a senior editor since December 2010. GeekWire is a technology news hub that covers the people, companies and innovations emerging from and impacting the Pacific Northwest. GeekWire receives around 500,000 unique visitors per month.
InformationWeek – Alison Diana has joined InformationWeek as senior editor covering healthcare IT. She most recently served as editor, Internet Evolution for DeusM for three months. Prior to that, she was editor in chief of 21st Century IT since March 2012.InformationWeek reaches more than 440,000 business technology professionals each week.
Mashable – Mashable has hired Jonathan Ellis as managing editor. In this role, he will oversee the daily news report and manage Mashable’s team of news editors. Jonathan will join the site on March 31 from The New York Times, where he currently serves as senior editor, digital platforms, a role he has held since August 2013. Jonathan has held various positions with theNYT since 2006. Brian Ries has also joined Mashable as the site’s first Real-Time News Editor. In this new role, Brian will develop real-time responses to breaking news and developing stories, using live-blogging tools and social media. He most recently served as a Technology and Health Editor at The Daily Beast since July 2012. Mashable receives more than 20 million unique visitors each month.
Wired – Roberto Baldwin has left his position at Wired, where he served as a writer covering consumer electronics for the Wired Gadget Lab blog. Prior to joining Wired in February 2012, Roberto served as a reporter for Gizmodo. His replacement has not yet been named.Wired and Wired.com reach more than 14 million readers each month.
