Broadcast Engineering – After 54 years in business Broadcast Engineering is closing its doors as of Oct. 31. According to publisher Penton Media, “changes within the broadcast and production industry, the economy and the overall decline in ad revenue that many magazine publishers are facing” are to blame.  David Austerberry, the editor of Broadcast Engineering’s world editionplans to launch his own online venture for the new converged landscape, additional details to come. Broadcast Engineering has 45k print subscribers and broadcastengineering.com receives 2.9 million page views from more than 1.4 million visitors each year. GigaOM Pro – The analyst firm has rebranded to become Gigaom Research. In an effort to unify the brand across Gigaom.com, Gigaom Events and Gigaom Research, the company has rolled out a new logo and site design including new features and improved search capabilities. Additionally, the firm has added a new area of coverage, Buyer’s Lens, which includes research created especially for IT and business tech buyers.

TMC – Rachel Ramsey has been promoted to the role of Content Director for the WebRTC and M2M brands at Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC). She is the primary editorial contact for M2M companies, including major carriers. Her responsibilities include producing weekly enewsletters for the M2M and WebRTC websites and conducting press briefings at industry tradeshows and conferences.
