ATLANTA (November 17, 2011) – Calysto Communications, a global public relations, media relations and social media marketing firm focused on the communications industry, today revealed it has been awarded two Stevie Awards for Women in Business for a global public relations campaign it managed for its client, The mGive Foundation.
Calysto was the winner in two Stevie categories, winning in both the “Small-Budget Marketing Campaign of the Year” and the “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - Crisis Communications” classifications.
This is the second time Calysto has won a Stevie Award for its ability to execute a highly cost-effective public relations campaign for clients – and also the second time it has been recognized for its effective crisis communications work.
Last year, Calysto won a Stevie Award for a campaign for another client in the “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Low Budget (Under $10,000)” category in the 2010 American Business Awards. Earlier this year, Calysto also won a Stevie Award for yet another client campaign in the category “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - Crisis Communications” in The 2011 American Business Awards.
Calysto is the only agency that has ever won two Stevie Awards for its expertise in creating and executing cost-effective, low-budget PR campaigns. It is also the only agency to receive two Stevie Awards honoring its crisis communications work.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide. The awards are one of four Stevie Awards programs, which have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.
More than 1,300 entries – a record for the competition – were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.
In receiving this year’s Stevie Award, Calysto joins other well-recognized, Stevie award-winning organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Century 21 Real Estate, Accenture and Xerox.
“When the disaster in Japan occurred, Calysto provided us with valuable strategic counsel on how we could use public relations to quickly get the word out on how individuals could donate via mobile to help victims in Japan,” said Jenifer Snyder, executive director of The mGive Foundation. “In the days and weeks following the disaster, Calysto continued to serve as our right hand by getting the attention of our target media and helping us respond to requests for information quickly.”
“Winning this latest Stevie award proves to the world what our communications industry clients already know – that Calysto’s public relations, media relations and social media campaigns deliver cost-effective, measurable results,” says Laura Borgstede, CEO of Calysto Communications. “Thanks to Calysto’s unique cloud-based business model, our agency offers clients lower overhead costs and greater productivity, which allows Calysto to not only execute more cost-effective campaigns for clients but also to easily customize our public relations efforts to meet the unique needs of any organization.”
As a result of the campaign, Calysto secured coverage on Web sites reaching more than 702 million unique visitors and in publications with around 3 million readers in just four days – including coverage in Forbes, MSNBC and Inside Dateline. In addition, traffic on The mGive Foundation’s website www.mgivefoundation.org increased more than tenfold in the month of March as a result of the campaign.
