9th annual Stevie® Awards will be presented on June 20 in New York City
ATLANTA – May 13, 2011 – Calysto Communications, a global public relations and social media marketing firm focused on the communications industry, was named a Finalist today in the “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - Crisis Communications” category in The 2011 American Business Awards.
The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
This is the fourth year in a row that Calysto has been recognized as an outstanding public relations and marketing agency by Stevie Award judges. Last year, Calysto won a Stevie Award in the “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Low Budget (Under $10,000)” category for a client campaign where it secured nearly 20 million U.S. media impressions, including online coverage in The New York Times and CNNMoney.com. That same campaign also produced significant coverage globally, securing 34 hits in international publications within just 24 hours after the campaign officially launched.
In 2009, Calysto was named a Finalist for “Public Relations Agency of the Year in North America” in The 2009 International Business Awards. In 2008, Calysto’s CEO Laura Borgstede was named a Finalist in the “Best Entrepreneur – Service Businesses - Up to 100 Employees” category in The 5th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
This year’s Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Monday, June 20 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than six-hundred executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The event will benefit Camfed (camfed.org), which fights poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa by educating girls and empowering women to become leaders of change. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network.
More than 2,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year.
“Calysto is thrilled to be recognized once again by the Stevie Awards for the outstanding public relations and marketing results we deliver for our communications industry clients,” said Laura Borgstede, CEO of Calysto Communications. “Our cloud-based business model allows us to assemble a custom-built team consisting only of VP-level associates for each client. This makes Calysto uniquely capable of delivering cost-effective, measurable results for our clients.”
Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May. Stevie Award winners will be selected from among the Finalists in each category next week by members of 10 specialized final judging committees. More than 150 executives will have participated in judging this year.
